Bickley Named GPAC Runner of the Week

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports announced the Cross Country Runners of the Week on Wednesday for action taking place from September 15-21, 2025. Doane's Porter Bickley was recognized as the men's recipient after his performance at the Greeno/Dirksen Invite in Lincoln on Saturday.

Bickley led the Tigers with a 29th place finish and time of 25:23, finishing as the top runner amongst GPAC competitors in the meet. Compared to last year's meet, he was 35 seconds faster this year on the Mahoney Park GC path.

Doane finished ninth in this year's race, second only to No. 10 Saint Mary (Kan.) in regards to NAIA programs competing. The Tigers topped three Top 10 NJCAA teams, two NCAA Division I programs including Nebraska, and two NCAA Division II programs out of the 23 teams scoring in the meet.

For Bickley, this is his first GPAC Runner of the Week honor and is the first for the men's program since 2020.

Doane returns to action on Saturday, October 11, in Sioux Center, Iowa, at the Dordt Holiday Inn Express Classic.
