Softball Drops Game One of Doubleheader with No. 4 Red Raiders

Softball hosted No. 4 Northwestern on Tuesday afternoon in Crete. The Red Raiders scored three runs in two separate innings and posted a 6-1 win in the opening game.

In the third inning, Northwestern scored two runs on a double and added a third on an error. Doane plated their run in the fifth inning. Anna Prauner singled to drive in pinch runner Lexi Adams. In the seventh inning, the Red Raiders were able to pull away with an RBI-single and a two-run single.

Faith Molina threw a complete game for the Tigers, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out two.

Doane finished with five hits in the game, two apiece from Prauner and Milannie Gonzalez. The Tigers also drew three walks and were hit by a pitch one time.

Game two followed 30 minutes after the first game concluded.
