Softball Pushes No. 22 Midland to Limit in Nightcap

Game Two of the softball doubleheader at No. 22 Midland would come down to the final out as the Tigers threatened to upset the Warriors but came up short, 3-1.

Midland picked up a run in the first, third, and fifth innings. Doane was able to break through with a run in the sixth inning as Jeryn Allen grounded out but brought in Lexi Alaniz-Diaz for a run.

In the seventh inning, Doane had a walk and two singles to load the bases before the Warriors escaped for the win.

Hannah Kline started and threw 0.1 inning, allowing one run on two hits. Faith Molina threw the final 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two.

Doane was limited to five hits in the game, two from Milannie Gonzalez. Bri True had the team's only extra base hit in the game, a double.

The Tigers return home for a Friday, April 11, doubleheader against Concordia at 3 PM. Senior Day festivities will take place prior to the start of the game.
