Softball traveled to Mitchell, S.D., to take on Dakota Wesleyan on Thursday afternoon. DWU won the opener in six innings, 8-0. The host team scored two or more runs in three innings to pick up the win.
Doane was held to three hits and two walks in the game. Grace Dowding was 1-for-2 with a walk. Jasmine Villegas and Bri True were also 1-for-2 in the game.
Faith McDonald threw 5.1 innings for Doane before DWU was able to enforce the 8-run rule in the sixth inning. She allowed eight runs on 14 hits and a walk.
