Softball Drops Game One to CSM
OMAHA, Neb. - Doane softball dropped game one of its GPAC doubleheader on Monday afternoon, falling 6-3 to College of Saint Mary.
The Tigers were held scoreless through the first three innings before breaking through in the fourth. Evelyn Iniguez singled and moved to third on Katelyn Hays' double to right, then came home on a catcher's throwing error after a fly out by Milannie Gonzalez to tie the game at 1-1.
College of Saint Mary answered with the decisive rally in the bottom of the fifth. After two outs, the Flames loaded the bases on a pair of walks and a single before Maycee Hays delivered a three-run triple to right field, giving the home team a 4-1 advantage.
