Broman Named Academic All-District

Doane women's basketball forward Heather Broman (SR/Geneva, Neb.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) Academic All-District team, in a release of the announcement on Thursday. She will now be among the players eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-American award that will be announced at the end of February.

Broman is the Tigers' leading scorer this season, averaging 16.0 points per game while pulling in 6.7 rebounds a game, second on the team. She is shooting 56.7-percent from the floor, currently 8th-best in the NAIA.

Earlier in the year, Broman eclipsed the 1,000-career point plateau and currently sits at 1,346 points and has a career 52.6 field goal percentage. She has pulled in 607 career rebounds, including 202 offensive rebounds. She is a two-time All-GPAC selection.

In addition to athletic play, academics and involvement are important for the nominees. Broman, an accounting major, is a NAIA and GPAC Scholar-Athlete, a member of the Dean's List, Accounting Club President and has been named to the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society.
