Tigers Throw a Three-Point Party
The women's basketball team was throwing a 3-point party on Wednesday evening as they closed out their rivalry with NWU. The two teams faced off for the final time as conference foes and Doane posted one of their largest margins of victories in the series as they won 100-61. Their 100 points tied for 5th most against NWU.
The Tigers scored nearly half of their points, 48 to be exact, from behind the 3-point arc as they hit a school record 16. Doane finished the game 16-of-27 (59%) from behind the arc. However, they started the game 2-of-8 after one quarter of play.

Heather Broman (SR/Geneva, Neb.) got into the scoring with a lay-up which was followed by another 3-pointer from Barnard as the Tigers went on a 24-2 run to take a 53-31 lead. The Tigers led 55-35 at the half.
The 3rd quarter opened with the two teams going back and forth as the Tigers maintained their lead. With 6:21 left, Dodd hit a 3-point basket that would another run. Barnard and Dodd went back-to-back followed by a Karolyn Cahill (JR/LaVista, Neb.) 3-point basket as she joined in the parade. Barnard added another 3-pointer before the quarter ended as the Tigers led 81-49 after three quarters. They entered the final quarter holding the school record as they topped the previous mark of 13 3-point baskets which was hit four times previously, including earlier this year against Concordia.
Barnard added two 3-point baskets in the 4th quarter as she finished with eight for the game, two off the school record. Doane's largest lead was 40 points, 89-49 following a free throw by Broman. Nine different Tigers scored in the game and 11 players pulled in at least one rebound as the Doane out-rebounded NWU, 46-28.
