Women's Basketball Places Three on All-Midlands Team

Doane Women's Basketball placed three players on this year's Omaha World Herald All-Midlands' NAIA/NCAA III team as chosen by the staff writers of the paper. The team consists of players who compete at Nebraska universities and colleges.

Mak Hatcliff was named the Honorary Captain of the team while Macy Holtz joined her on the First Team. Megan Chambers received honorable mention recognition. Also earning First Team honors were Taysha Rushton and Sadie Powell (Concordia) along with Asha Scott (Bellevue).

Hatcliff led the GPAC in scoring for the second straight season, posting 21.7 points per game which ranked seventh in the NAIA. She added 6.9 rebounds and 2.4 steals again as she earned NAIA All-American honors as well.

Holtz posted 13.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in her first season as a Tiger. She added 2.1 steals per game as the team averaged 9.8 steals per game on the year. Chambers finished with 9.6 points per game, shooting 56.9-percent from the floor, fourth-best in the GPAC. She added 5.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots per game.

Doane finished with a 14-15 overall record, 8-14 in conference play and advancing to play in the GPAC postseason tournament.
