Women's Golf Take Second in Home Meet
Women's Golf hosted the annual Kaitlyn Erickson Doane Invite on Monday and Tuesday in Lincoln. The Tigers hosted a field of 13 schools, including three in the Top 50 of the NAIA rankings. Bellevue, ranked No. 23, held off No. 39 Doane for a one-stroke win for the team crown. Doane finished with a 647 (333-314) total.
Connie Jarm led the varsity squad with a third place finish and score of 156 (77-79). Kaitlyn Dumler tied for seventh with a 161 (84-77). Sydney Streeter tied for ninth place with a 162 (84-78). Laila Saunders tied for 21st with a 168 (88-80) and Tia Phaisan tied for 32nd with a 174 (93-81).
The Tiger "B" team was led by Avery Van Horn with a 166 (82-84), tying for 16th. Payton Morgan tied for 21st with a 168 (84-84). Jamisyn Kirkpatrick tied for 46th with a 180 (95-85) and Lainey Madill tied for 49th with a 182 (92-88). Maddie Nielsen shot a 107 on the first day but was unable to compete on day two.
Playing under individual status, Jessy Merrell tied for 16th with a 166 (84-82). Julia Johnson placed 84th with a 226 (119-107).
Next up for the Tigers is the Bent Tree Invite in Council Bluffs, Iowa, hosted by Iowa Western CC on April 21-22.
