Roadrunners Spoil 2023 Opener for Women's Tennis

Doane Women's Tennis opened the 2023 slate on Saturday in Kearney as they took on Metropolitan State of Denver. The NCAA Division II squad out of Colorado posted a 7-0 victory over the Tigers.

The Roadrunners swept doubles action with the closest match coming at No. 1 doubles where Ava Macke and Ashlyn Kucera were edged out, 6-4.

Metro State took all six singles matches in straight sets. Nina Ngo was the lone player to take a game in each set.

Next up for the Tigers will be a match-up with Southwestern (Kan.) on February 11 in Fremont. First serve is scheduled for 9 AM at the Fremont YMCA.
