Top Tier Region Team, McPherson, Downs Women's Tennis

Doane Women's Tennis traveled to Fremont on Sunday to meet McPherson (Kan.).  The Bulldogs are receiving votes in the NAIA national poll. The Tigers were defeated 7-0 by their Kansas foe.

In singles action, the Bulldogs put three players on the court who are ranked in the region's Top 20. Ashlyn Kucera gave No. 18 Vanessa Hofer a tough first set before dropping her match, 4-6, 1-6. Grace Schroller also put together a strong showing at No. 6 singles, dropping her match, 3-6, 3-6.

In doubles action, McPherson put two Top 10 doubles teams on the court as they swept all three matches.

Doane will return to action on March 6 when they take on NCAA Division II William Jewell in Liberty, Missouri.
