Women's Tennis Drops Road Tilt at William Jewell
Doane Women's Tennis traveled to Liberty, Missouri, to take on NCAA Division II William Jewell on Monday. The Cardinals won four singles matches and took the doubles point for a 5-2 win over the Tigers.
In doubles play, William Jewell swept the three matches. The tightest battle came at 1-doubles where Julia Santos and Maggie Shooklee teamed up to hold off Ava Macke and Liz van der Torre, 6-4.
Singles action saw the Tigers pick up their two wins in the middle of the lineup. Ashlyn Kucera won at 3-singles over Maisie Markowitz, 7-6 (9-7), 6-0. Nina Ngo picked up a win at 4-singles, 7-5, 6-3, over Elsie Crawford.
Next up for Doane will be a trip to Salina, Kansas, to take on Kansas Wesleyan on March 11. First serve scheduled for 3 PM.
