Women's Tennis Opens GPAC Play with Sweep
Doane Women's Tennis opened conference action on Sunday with a 7-0 victory over Mount Marty. The match was played indoors in Yankton, S.D.
The Lancer women had four active players, resulting in forfeit wins at 5 and 6-singles and 3-doubles. Doane took the doubles point as Ava Macke and Liz van der Torre won 6-2 at 1-doubles. The Tigers finished off the sweep of doubles play with a 6-0 win by Ashlyn Kucera and Nina Ngo at 2-doubles.
In singles action, Macke was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at 1-singles. In the 2-singles match, van der Torre won 6-0, 6-0. Kucera claimed a 6-1, 6-0 win at 3-singles and Ngo was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at 4-singles.
Next up for the Tigers will be a match with Nebraska Wesleyan on March 25 in Lincoln.
