Women's Tennis Stays Unbeaten in GPAC Action
Doane Women's Tennis stayed undefeated in conference play on Tuesday with a 6-1 victory over College of Saint Mary. The Tigers improved to 4-0 in GPAC play and 8-11 overall.
The Tigers swept doubles action to earn the team point. Ava Macke and Liz van der Torre won 6-2 at 1-doubles. Ashlyn Kucera and Nina Ngo teammed up for a 6-0 shutout at 2-doubles. Kailyn Groski and Grace Schroller posted a 6-3 win at 3-doubles.
The Tigers took five of the six singles matches. In the 2-singles match, van der Torre won a tight first set as she came from behind to post a 6-4 victory. In the second set, she rolled to a 6-1 win to post a straight-sets victory. Kucera won her first set, 6-0, and then the match came to an end as her opponent was unable to continue.
The Tigers received victories by the same scores at 4, 5, and 6-singles. Ngo won at 4-singles, Groski at 5-singles, and Schroller won 6-singles with the identical scores of 6-1, 6-1.
Doane will host Hastings on Thursday, April 13, at 3:00 PM.
