Mustangs Hand Women's Tennis First GPAC Loss

Doane Women's Tennis hosted Morningside on Sunday and dropped their first conference match of the season, 6-1, to the Mustangs. The Tigers still have a chance to tie for the GPAC crown with a win in their regular season finale.

The match opened with Doane securing the first point by winning two of the three doubles matches. Ava Macke and Liz van der Torre won 6-4 at 1-doubles and Ashlyn Kucera and Nina Ngo won 6-2 at 2-doubles.

In singles action, the Mustangs bounced back to sweep the six matches. Three of the matches went three sets.

Doane will close out the regular season at home on Saturday, April 22, against Midland. A Tiger win combined with a Mustang loss at some point the rest of the season would give Doane a share of the conference crown.
