Women's Tennis Places Five on NAIA Scholar-Athlete List

Doane Women's Tennis placed five players on the 2023 NAIA Scholar-Athlete list released this week. To be recognized, a student-athlete must be of at least sophomore academic status, be enrolled at their institution for one full year at the time nominations are required, and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better.

The five selections are the second most in program history, one shy of the mark set in 2017. Receiving honors this year were Liz van der Torre, Nina Ngo, Ava Macke, Ashlyn Kucera, and Cierra Schwarzkopf. Macke is the first Tiger to earn the honor four times, having played an extra season due to the 2020 pandemic. Ngo and van der Torre each earned the award for the third time while Kucera and Schwarzkopf are first-time selections.
