Women's Tennis All-American honors were announced on Friday by the NAIA. Doane sophomore Maria Purizaca received Third Team honors this year, marking the first time in Tiger tennis history that a player has earned multiple NAIA All-American honors. She was a Second Team selection last year.
Purizaca, ranked No. 28 in the last ITA rankings for 2024-25, went 19-1 this season in duals and 10-2 in tournaments for singles play, finishing with a 29-3 record. She posted a win this year over Second Team All-American and 25th-ranked Sofia Canto (Bethel, TN - two-time All-American), two wins over Karolina Mrowiecova (Mobile, AL - 2024 All-American), and two wins over 59th-ranked Mariana Molano (Concordia, NE). Her losses on the year came to one player, Second Team All-American and 11th-ranked Line Jensen of Morningside.
In two seasons for the Tigers, she holds a 41-2 record in duals and 57-6 record overall.
