Women's Track and Field Has Strong Showing in Seward

Women's Track and Field took part in the Concordia Classic on Saturday in Seward. The Tigers hit three NAIA automatic qualifying marks and five provisional qualifying marks on the day.

On the track, Neryah Hekl competed in her first meet for the Tigers and hit a provisional NAIA qualifying mark with a time of 7.71 to win the 60m dash. Lindsay Adams placed ninth in the 200m with a time of 27.11. Kiley Hejtmanek took sixth in the 400m with a time of 1:02.63.

Chaney Nelson took third in the 600m with a time of 1:42.32. Emily Lytle finished fifth in the 800m as she ran a time of 2:34.51.

Danie Parriott took second in the 1000m run. Her time of 3:00.85 (2:58.90 track conversion time) is sixth in the NAIA and an automatic qualifying mark. Delaney Catron took 16th in the mile run with a time of 5:54.40. 

Josie Garrett took third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.33. In the prelims, she ran an NAIA provisional qualifying time of 8.92. The women's 4x400m relay team placed fourth with a time of 4:13.09. Running for the Tigers were Hejtmanek, Nelson, Jerzi Maher, and Lytle.

In the field events, Garrett won the high jump with a height of 1.65m (5-05.00). Her height met the provisional qualifying standard. In the pole vault, Kaylee Pribyl won with a height of 3.72m (12-02.50) to meet the automatic qualifying standard. Kennedy Stanley took second with a height of 3.47m (11-04.50), meeting the provisional qualifying mark.

Rosalyn Roggasch won the triple jump with an NAIA automatic qualifying mark of 11.52m (37-09.50). Garrett took second with another provisional qualifying mark, leaping to a mark of 11.49m (37-08.50). 

Adams placed third in the long jump with a mark of 5.47m (17-11.50). Alyvia Thomas placed 11th in the shot put with a throw of 14.38m (47-02.25).

Next up for the Tigers will be the Fred Beile Classic on February 3 in Crete.
