Garrett Breaks Hurdles Record at Prairie Wolf Invite

Women's Track and Field competed at the Prairie Wolf Invite on Friday in Lincoln.

On the track, RaeAnn Thompson placed sixth in the 60m dash as she posted a time of 7.92. Thompson led the Tigers in the 200m as well, winning the race in a time of 25.98. The women's 4x400m relay team of Katie Vogt, Chaney Nelson, Kiley Hejtmanek, and Danie Parriott won with a time of 3:59.61.

In the 60m hurdles, Josie Garrett broke the school record as she ran a time of 8.71. She topped the mark of 8.79 that was previously set in 2016. Her time met the NAIA provisional qualifying standard as she took second place.

In the field events, Katelynn Kratz led the Tigers in the high jump as she placed fourth with a clearance of 1.54m (5-00.50). Kennedy Stanley won the pole vault as she met the NAIA provisional qualifying standard mark of 3.60m (11-09.75).

In the long jump, Kyra Bowen placed 10th with a mark of 4.54m (14-10.75). Garrett won the triple jump with a NAIA provisional qualifying distance of 11.66m (38-03.25). Rosalyn Roggasch was second in the event with a provisional qualifying mark of 11.58m (38-00.00).

Alivia Baucom and Madison Sutton met the provisional qualifying standard in the shot put. Baucom placed second with a mark of 13.93m (45-08.50) while Sutton was third with a throw of 13.70m (44-11.50). Sutton won the weight throw with a NAIA automatic qualifying mark of 17.33m (56-10.25). Mia Knigge was third with a throw of 16.63m (54-06.75), meeting the provisional standard.

The Tigers will compete at the Concordia Classic on Saturday, January 25, in Seward.
