Three Automatic Qualifying NAIA Marks Hit for Women's Track and Field
SEWARD, Neb. - Doane Women's Track and Field got the full slate of events started on Saturday at the Bulldog Early Bird meet. After hosting the Happy Holiday Combined Events last weekend, the rest of the Tiger athletes were able to get in action before the holiday break.
On the track, Neryah Hekl took second place in the 60m dash with a NAIA provisional national qualifying time of 7.61. Tania Gleason posted a winning time of 24.85 in the 200m dash. With the track conversion, her time is calculated at 24.47 for an automatic qualifying mark and is the fastest time in the NAIA this year. Katie Vogt posted a time of 24.98 (converted to 24.60) to place second and meet the NAIA provisional standard. Zaili Benesh had the Tigers' fastest time in the 400m with a mark of 1:01.46. In the 3000m, Maddy Ramey placed seventh with a time of 11:24.95.
Josie Garrett took fifth place in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.05 in the finals. She ran a time of 8.92 in the prelims, also fifth-fastest. The 4x400m relay team of Vogt, Jayden Meyer, Kiley Hejtmanek, and Gleason placed second with a time of 3:52.75. Their converted track time of 3:49.70 is the second-fastest time in the NAIA and an automatic qualifying mark.
In field events, Kayley Thompson placed fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.56m (5-01.25). Avery Scott and Kennedy Stanley tied for third in the pole vault, each clearing 3.40m (11-01.75).
Rosalyn Roggasch placed 13th based on attempts in the long jump with a mark of 5.10m (16-08.75), finishing ahead of teammate Addison Fahrnbruch who also jumped 5.10m. Kyla Davis placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 11.43m (37-06.00).
Delaney Burge hit a provisional qualifying mark in the shot put as she hit a throw of 13.41m (44-00.00). Mia Knigge posted an automatic qualifying throw in the weight throw with a toss of 17.46m (57-03.50).
Doane will return to the track in 2026 when they host the Ward Haylett Invite on January 10.
