Women's Track and Field Post Early Solid Marks
CRETE, Neb. — Doane women's track and field delivered a wire-to-wire team performance in its home indoor meet Saturday, stacking victories on the track and in the field and punching multiple NAIA qualifying marks inside Fuhrer Field House.
The Tigers opened fast with a sweep of the 60 meters: junior Neryah Hekl won in 7.68, senior Tania Gleason was second in 7.73 after leading prelims in 7.74, and freshman Elizabeth Wemhoff took third in 7.96. Wemhoff returned to capture the 200 in 25.58, with senior Morgan Mahoney third in 26.92.
Doane owned the quarter and middle distances. Freshman Jayden Meyer broke the minute to win the 400 in 59.78, ahead of junior Kiley Hejtmanek (1:00.78) and freshman Zaili Benish (1:01.69) for a Tiger sweep.
