Women's Track and Field Hosts Fred Beile Classic

CRETE, Neb. – Competing on their home track at the Fred Beile Classic on Saturday inside Fuhrer Field House, the Doane women's track and field team stacked event wins, swept the podium in the triple jump, and posted multiple NAIA qualifying marks highlighted by an NAIA "A" standard in the 4x400 relay.

Doane's biggest headline came in the 4x400 relay, where the Tigers' "A" squad of Kat Vogt, Tania Gleason, Kiley Hejtmanek and Danie Parriott won the event in 3:53.96, a time that met the NAIA "A" standard. Doane also took second with its "B" team (Zaili Benish, Elizabeth Wemhoff, Britta Deden, Marissa Miles) in 4:14.99, and added a third-place finish from its "C" group (Emily Lytle, Madison Lytle, Allison Ernst) in 4:28.38.

On the track, the Tigers claimed multiple victories. RaeAnn Thompson won the 200 meters in 25.61, and freshman Jayden Meyer continued a strong day by placing third in the 200 (26.33) before capturing the 600 meters title in 1:37.74. The Tigers' throws group continued to produce in both shot put and weight throw. Doane also added Payton Cast in sixth (12.08m/39-7.75). In the seeded weight throw, Doane posted two NAIA "B" marks with Kaylie Lotspeich taking second at 17.06m (55-11.75) and Trinity Becher placing third at 16.79m (55-1).
