Track and Field Sending Pair to NAIA Marathon in California

Doane Track and Field will be represented this weekend in California at the NAIA National Marathon, held in conjunction with the California International Marathon. The event will take place on Sunday, December 3, at 9 AM (CST)/7 AM (PST).

Representing Doane will be Jaden Hilkemann in the women's race and Jacob Tadlock in the men's race. The NAIA received 100 allotted spots for the event, 50 per side. In total, 94 spots have been confirmed to compete.

In order to qualify, athletes had to average running 50 miles per week over a 12 week period between early August to early November. They also had to complete two 2-hour runs during that time.

Sacramento is the host city for the event. The Top 8 individuals and Top 3 teams will receive awards at the event. The marathon was previously held in conjunction with the NAIA Outdoor Championships in May each year. It is now a standalone event under the NAIA umbrella.
