Fuller Breaks Hammer Throw Record in Seward

Women's Track and Field competed at the Concordia Invite on Friday in Seward. The Tigers posted four NAIA automatic qualifying marks and met the NAIA provisional standard three times.

On the track, Neryah Hekl won the 100m dash with a time of 11.96. Katie Vogt won the 200m dash with a time of 25.44. Caydence Kuss took 25th in the 400m with a time of 1:11.66. Laura Hasemann took seventh in the 800 with a time of 2:30.55 and Danie Parriott placed third in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:56.18.

In the 100m hurdles, Josie Garrett met the NAIA provisional standard with a time of 14.50 to place second. Chaney Nelson took second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:06.68.

The 4x100m relay team qualified for nationals with a winning time of 47.28. Running for the Tigers were Isabel Bothwell, Morgan Mahoney, Vogt, and Hekl. The 4x400m relay team of Nelson, Vogt, Kiley Hejtmanek, and Lindsay Adams posted a time of 4:01.40.

In the field events, Sarah Theiler and Garrett tied for eighth with a clearance of 1.55m (5-01.00). Kaylee Pribyl was just shy of her season-best mark from a week ago as she cleared the NAIA automatic standard in the pole vault for the second straight week, going 3.95m (12-11.50). Kennedy Stanley met the provisional standard with a height of 3.55m (11-07.75).

Garrett took second place in the long jump with a mark of 5.50m (18-00.50). She met the NAIA provisional standard in the triple jump with a mark of 11.58m (38-00.00).

Macy Fuller bested her school record in the hammer throw as she hit a mark of 55.93m (183-06), an NAIA automatic qualifying mark, on her fifth attempt of the day. She topped the record set last year by six feet. Alivia Baucom met the NAIA automatic qualifying mark in the shot put with a throw of 13.50m (44-03.50). Sydney Biermann placed third in the discus with a throw of 40.95m (134-04). Molly Vander Hamm took sixth in the javelin with a toss of 35.75m (117-03).

Next up for the Tigers is their annual dual with Nebraska Wesleyan. The two squads will meet in Lincoln this year on Friday, April 12.
