Women's Track and Field Competes in Doane Invite
Women's Track and Field hosted the Doane Invite on Tuesday afternoon in Crete. The Tigers earned four NAIA provisional qualifying marks on the day.
In the field events, Katelynn Kratz won the high jump with a mark of 1.66m (5-05.25) to meet the NAIA provisional standard. Kennedy Stanley took second in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.50m (11-05.75). Abby Fontana took fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.02m (16-05.75). Josie Garrett met the provisional qualifying standard in the triple jump with a winning mark of 11.84m (38-10.25).
In the shot put, Alivia Baucom hit a provisional standard mark of 14.01m (45-11.75), taking second overall. Baucom took third in the discus with a throw of 43.03m (141-02). Mia Knigge won the hammer throw with a toss of 47.22m (154-11). Mattie Pohl finished third in the javelin with a mark of 37.89m (124-03).
On the track, Neryah Hekl won the 100m dash with a time of 12.00. RaeAnn Thompson won the 200m with a time of 25.12. Danie Parriott won the 800m with an NAIA provisional qualifying time of 2:13.70. Maddy Ramey won the 1500m with a time of 5:09.21.
Garrett took the 100m hurdles title as she clocked a time of 14.43. Chaney Nelson won the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:05.39.
Doane is back in action on Saturday, April 12, when they host Nebraska Wesleyan in a dual.
