Women's Track and Field Downs Prairie Wolves
Women's Track and Field hosted Nebraska Wesleyan in the 20th annual dual between the two teams. The series started back in 2004. Doane defeated NWU, 119-63, to pick up the 17th win of the series. Scoring is awarded to the top two finishers on each team per event with a point system of 5-3-2-1.
On the track, Neryah Hekl won the 100m dash with a time of 12.05 while RaeAnn Thompson took second with a time of 12.26. In the 200m, Thompson won with a time of 25.12 and Kat Vogt was second with a time of 25.36. Vogt won the 400m in a time of 56.03, meeting the NAIA provisional qualifying standard. Kiley Hejtmanek took second with a time of 1:01.00.
Danie Parriott won the 800m with a time of 2:15.22 and Maddy Ramey was third with a time of 2:28.43. Ashlei McDonald won the 1500m in a time of 4:52.68 and Laura Hasemann was third in a time of 5:11.48. In the 5000m, Mackenzy Lippold won in a time of 19:53.07 with Delaney Catron in second with a time of 19:56.04.
In the hurdles, Josie Garrett won the 100m hurdles in a time of 14.33. Chaney Nelson took third with a time of 16.08. Nelson won the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:11.25 and Mackenzie Spencer was second in a time of 1:27.54.
The 4x100m relay team of Thompson, Morgan Mahoney, Vogt, and Hekl won in a time of 46.44, hitting the NAIA automatic national qualifying standard. In the 4x400m, the squad of Hejtmanek, Parriott, McDonald, and Marissa Miles ran a time of 4:09.97.
In the field events, Katelynn Kratz won the high jump with a mark of 1.61m (5-03.25). Garrett took second based on attempts, also clearing 1.61m. Kennedy Stanley won the pole vault with a clearance of 3.50m (11-05.75) and Samantha Knapp was second with a clearance of 3.20m (10-06.00).
Rosalyn Roggash took third in the long jump with a mark of 5.39m (17-08.25) and Abby Fontana was fourth with a mark of 5.28m (17-04.00). Roggash won the triple jump with a leap of 11.38m (37-04.00) while Kyla Davis was second with a mark of 10.96m (35-11.50).
Alivia Baucom won the shot put with an NAIA provisional qualifying mark of 14.05m (46-01.25). Madison Heusinkvelt was third with a mark of 13.15m (43-01.75). In the discus, Baucom was third with a mark of 43.88m (143-11) and Grace Dean took fourth with a mark of 42.08m (138-01).
Mia Knigge won the hammer throw with a toss of 50.07m (164-03) and Kaylie Lotspeich was second with a throw of 43.81m (143-09). Delaney Burge finished in second place in the javelin with a throw of 38.88m (127-07) and Kalli Sutton was third with a mark of 38.20m (125-04).
Doane will host the John Green Combined Events on April 16-17 and the Jim Dutcher Memorial Classic on April 17-18.
