Sutton Named GPAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women's outdoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held April 21 - April 27, 2025. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

Field Events – Madison Sutton, Doane

Madison Sutton from Doane University is this week's women's field athlete-of-the-week. Sutton, a senior from Lexington, Nebraska, posted the top mark in the GPAC and 5th-best in the NAIA in the hammer throw with a toss of 54.12m (177-07) at the Prairie Wolf Invite. She won the discus with a mark of 47.04m (154-04), meeting the NAIA provisional standard. Sutton added a third-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.49m (44-03.25). On the year, she leads the GPAC in both the hammer throw and the discus while sitting seventh in the shot put.
