Hekl Breaks School Record in Pacing Women's Track & Field in Twilight Meets

Women's Track and Field competed in a pair of twilight meets on Friday, taking part in the University of South Dakota (USD) Twilight and the Concordia Twilight.

In Vermillion, S.D., Rosalyn Roggasch took second place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.55m (37-10.25). She was the only participant on the women's side for Doane.

In Seward, Neb., Neryah Hekl broke her school record in the 100m dash with a national qualifying time of 11.66. Kat Vogt ran a personal best time in the 400m, posting a time of 54.87 to place second and improve on her national qualifying standard.

Danie Parriott improved on her provisional qualifying mark in the 800m with a time of 2:12.21, placing second in the meet. Josie Garrett met the provisionally qualifying standard in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.18.

In the high jump, Katelynn Kratz finished third with a clearance of 1.57m (5-01.75). Kaylee Pribyl placed second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.68m (12-00.75). 

Madison Heusinkvelt posted a personal best in the shot put, hitting a throw of 13.80m (45-03.50) to meet the NAIA provisional standard and place second. Grace Dean placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 41.40m (135-10). Madison Sutton placed sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 54.50m (178-10). In the javelin, Delaney Burge placed fourth with a mark of 38.14m (125-01).

Dean is the only Tiger scheduled to compete at the Loper Twilight on Saturday, May 10, in Kearney for a final attempt to qualify for nationals.
