Bluejays Clip Volleyball in Crete

Doane Volleyball dropped a four set match to Tabor (Kan.) on Friday evening in the Haddix Center. After a strong opening set for the Tigers, the Bluejays were able to take the final three sets. Game scores were 12-25, 25-23, 25-21, and 26-24 in favor of Tabor.

The Tigers finished with 60 kills on the night and a .287 attack percentage, both are the second-best marks of the season. However, Tabor collected 75 digs on the night which are the third-most for the Bluejays this season with the other two marks coming in five sets.

Kirsten Bures (SR/Odell, Neb.) led the Tigers with 14 kills, followed by Taylor Sluka (SO/Lincoln, Neb.) with 13 kills, and Simonie Mendenhall (SR/Clancy, Mont.) with 10 kills. Cassidy Tompkin (SR/Clay Center, Neb.)s and Ally Wallace (SR/Franktown, Colo.) added nine apiece. Jaime Renshaw (SR/Sioux Falls, S.D.) dished out 48 assists on the evening.

Doane finished the match with nine ace serves, three from Lillian Parolek (FR/Palmyra, Neb.). The Tigers did have nine service errors.

Renshaw led the Tigers with 16 digs and MacKenzie Painter (SO/Lincoln, Neb.) added 13 digs. Doane finished with 7.0 team blocks, led by Mendenhall with four total blocks.

Doane will hit the road on Saturday to Sioux City, Iowa, as they take on Morningside and Avila.
