Saint Mary (KS) Takes Five Set Win from Tiger Volleyball

Volleyball went the distance on Saturday afternoon as they took on Saint Mary (Kan.), falling in five sets. Game scores were 25-16, 32-30, 22-25, 30-32, and 15-8 in favor of the Spires.

Taylor Sluka and Gracie Burwell led the team with 16 kills apiece. Delaney Burge and Frankie Curren-Graff added 14 kills apiece. As a team, the Tigers finished with 73 kills and a .210 attack percentage while Saint Mary had 69 kills and a .198 attack percentage. Camdyn Carpenter led the team with 58 assists. Anna Sluka had three of the team's four ace serves.

Defensively, the Tigers recorded 107 digs and 8.0 blocks. Sophia McKinney recorded 29 digs with Anna Sluka finishing with 17, Sophia Turek with 15, Carpenter with 12, and Maddie Busch with 11. Taylor Sluka and Burge were each in on four total blocks while Olivia Navarro had three total blocks.

Doane will travel to Yankton, S.D, on September 6 to take on Mount Marty at 7:30 PM.
