Volleyball Shuts Down Falcon Attack

Volleyball opened action on Saturday afternoon with a three-set victory over Friends (Kan.). The Tigers posted a .272 attack percentage on the day while limiting the Falcons to a .032 attack percentage. Game scores were 25-15, 25-18, and 25-14.

Taylor Sluka led the team with 13 kills while Delaney Burge and Gracie Burwell posted nine kills apiece. Olivia Navarro added eight kills and Frankie Curren-Graff finished with seven for the balanced attack that notched 48 kills as a team. Camdyn Carpenter picked up 39 set assists in the match. Doane added seven ace serves offensively, two apiece from Sophia McKinney and Maddie Busch.

Defensively, the Tigers posted a perfect serve reception performance as they cleanly received 47 serves. Doane had 64 digs in the match with McKinney finishing with 18 and Anna Sluka adding 17 digs. At the net, the team recorded 4.0 blocks. Navarro and Burge finished with two blocks apiece.

The Tigers take on No. 12 College of Saint Mary later on Saturday.
