Volleyball traveled to take on NCAA Division II Nebraska-Kearney on Monday, dropping the match to the Lopers, 25-10, 25-17, and 25-12.
The Tigers pushed the Lopers early in the second set by hitting .152 in the set. The score was tied at 12-all before a 7-0 run opened up the game for UNK. Doane battled back with a 6-2 run to close the gap to 21-17 only to see the Lopers take the final four points.
For the match, Taylor Sluka led the Tigers with eight kills. Frankie Curren-Graff added six kills as the team finished with 25 and hit .095 for the match. Camdyn Carpenter picked up 12 assists and eight digs while Sophia McKinney had seven assists and 10 digs.
The Tigers will head back to central Nebraska on Wednesday, September 20, to take on Hastings in a return to GPAC play. First serve is set for 7:30 PM in the varsity contest.
