Volleyball made a stop about halfway from their Friday match in North Dakota and Crete on Saturday afternoon for a match with (RV) Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, S.D. Most of the key statistical numbers favored Doane but the scoreboard did not as DWU won 25-21, 25-21, and 25-21.
Doane finished with 43 kills on the night to 38 for DWU. The Tigers also out-blocked their blue Tiger counterparts, 7.0 to 5.0. However, DWU hit .248 as a team while Doane hit .143 and Dakota Wesleyan had four fewer service errors.
Frankie Curren-Graff led the way with 13 kills and a .357 attack percentage. Taylor Sluka and Delaney Burge added nine kills apiece. Camdyn Carpenter dished out 38 assists in the match.
Defensively, Sophia McKinney posted 14 digs, Anna Sluka notched 13 digs, and Sophia Turek added 10 digs. Burge finished with three total blocks to lead the team.
Doane will return to action on Wednesday, October 4, with a trip to Salina, Kansas, to take on Kansas Wesleyan.
