Volleyball Host Pink Out Night Against No. 17 Midland
CRETE, Neb. – Doane held their annual Pink Out night on Wednesday evening as they hosted No. 17 Midland, falling 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-21) in GPAC action at the Haddix Center.
Sophomore outside hitter Natalie Wood paced the Tigers' offense with 12 kills on .250 hitting, while Brooke Larsen and Kate Roseland added eight and five kills, respectively. Setter Camdyn Carpenter distributed 20 assists and added six digs and a solo block, and Kaylee Rammell led the defensive effort in the back row with 13 digs.
Doane showed resilience after a tough opening set, tightening play in the final two frames. The Tigers hit .171 in the third set — their best offensive stretch of the night — and matched the Warriors point-for-point until a late Midland surge secured the sweep.
Midland (14-7, 9-2 GPAC) was led by Brooklynn Snyder, who tallied 15 kills with a .625 hitting percentage, while Abree Plueger chipped in six kills and six digs. The Warriors finished with a .204 attack percentage and six service aces.
Doane (12-13, 3-8 GPAC) recorded 32 kills, 42 digs, and four team blocks, continuing to show balance across the lineup despite the result.
The Tigers return to GPAC play Saturday, traveling to face Briar Cliff in Sioux City. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
