Women's Wrestling will send three team members to Fort Worth, Texas, to compete in the 2023 Senior Nationals - 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifier on December 15-17. The event will be held at the Fort Worth Convention Center and is available to view online through FloWrestling.
For the Olympics, there are only six weight categories in Women's Freestyle: 50kg, 53kg, 57kg, 62kg, 68kg, and 76kg. Top 5 finishers from the 2023 Senior Nationals meet will qualify for the U.S. Olympic Trials in April at State College, Pennsylvania.
Additional opportunities to qualify will come through the NAIA Championships (individual championship) or the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifier, both in March 2024.
Cristelle Rodriguez will compete at 57 kg/125.7 lbs. She has a 9-0 record collegiately this season and is ranked No. 1 at 123 in the NAIA. She represented Team USA in August at the 20U World Championships in Amman, Jordan. Team USA finished third in the meet.
Bridgette Sotomayor and Ashlee Palimo'o will compete at 62 kg/136.7 lbs. Sotomayor is 11-3 on the collegiate season at 136 and is ranked No. 16 in the NAIA. Palimo'o has competed unattached this year due to the in-conference transfer rule. She has gone 8-5 in collegiate matches, all at 136.
