Romero Named GPAC Wrestler of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women's wrestler-of-the-week for competitions between November 4-10, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

Hailey Romero, Doane University – 180lb Weight Class

Doane University wrestler Hailey Romero is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Wrestler-of-the-Week. Romero, a sophomore from Kearney, Missouri, went 4-0 and won her bracket at the Waldorf Open. The championship marked her second collegiate tournament win. She won three matches by pin and has four pins in her five wins this season. Romero defeated seventh-ranked Kami Senlycki of NCAA Division III Wartburg in the championship match.
