Women's Wrestling Rolls Past No. 14 Texas Wesleyan

Women's Wrestling finished action in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at the NWCA NAIA National Duals on Saturday as they faced No. 14 Texas Wesleyan in the 11th Place match. The Tigers jumped out to a 25-0 lead on their way to a 38-11 victory.

Doane received three forfeit wins to begin action. The first match on the mat came at 124 as Cristelle Rodriguez needed only 60 seconds to pin Carolina Ross. The Tigers added another forfeit for 25 team points. Texas Wesleyan had two wrestlers who were ranked that wrestled and both won by pin, taking the matches at 138 and 207.

The Tigers added three more wins in the match. Aevri Ciha won at 145 by pin in 2:40. Aspen Barber posted a 10-4 win at 160. Hailey Romero won at 180 with a pin in 2:21.

Next up for Doane will be the York Open on Saturday, January 18, in York.
