Rodriguez Named GPAC Women's Wrestler of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women's wrestler-of-the-week for contests played January 27-February 2, 2025. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

 

WOMEN
Cristelle Rodriguez, Doane University – 124b Weight Class

Doane University wrestler Cristelle Rodriguez is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Wrestler-of-the-Week.  Rodriguez, a junior from Clovis, California, helped Doane in their 48-0 win over NAIA No. 6 William Penn as she pinned No. 3 Joanna Vanderwood. Rodriguez, ranked No. 1 at 124, built a 9-0 lead before landing one last takedown that would result in a pin of Vanderwood. The team victory was No. 12 Doane's first Top 10 victory in program history as well as their first team shutout.
