Women's Cross Country Places 12th at Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic

ASHLAND, Neb. - Doane women's cross country co-hosted the third annual Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic on Saturday morning at Mahoney State Park. The field included 275 runners from 35 schools (26 teams scored). Doane placed 12th overall with 357 points.

Maddy Ramey paced Doane with a time of 23:37 to place 60th overall. Calla Wittland placed 72nd with a time of 23:48 and Danie Parriott was 74th with a time of 23:49. Delaney Catron placed 84th with a time of 24:00. Mackenzy Lippold rounded out the Top 5 with a time of 24:11 to place 93rd.

Winning individual medalist honors was Grace Steinmetz of Bellevue with a time of 20:48. The team champion was NAIA No. 9 College of Idaho with 42 points. Saint Mary (Kan.), ranked No. 13, was second with 75 points.

Next up for the Tigers will be a return trip to Mahoney State Park on November 8 as they host the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championships.
