Men's Basketball Nipped in Overtime

Men's Basketball dropped a heart-breaker in Yankton, S.D., on Wednesday evening as they lost in overtime, 75-73, to Mount Marty. The two teams have split on the season, with both games decided by two points as Doane won 70-68 back in December.

For the game, Doane shot 48-percent (25-of-52) from the floor and 34.5-percent (10-of-29) from behind the arch. Seven of Doane's 3-point baskets came in the second half and overtime. The Tigers were 13-of-21 at the free throw line. Mount Marty shot 49-percent (29-of-59) from the floor and 27-percent (4-of-15) from behind the arc. The Lancers were 13-of-20 at the free throw line.

Brady Timm led the Tigers with 25 points. Jack Wilson posted 14 points and 10 rebounds. Glavine McDonald added 12 points in the second half and overtime while Casen Chaney finished with 11 points. Timm and Caleb Hrabik led the team with three assists apiece. Chaney led the team with four steals.

Mount Marty was led by their bench play as Sutton Arend posted 18 points and Damon Opdahl added 16 points. Jared Lopez scored 11 of the 25 points from the starting lineup.

Doane will be back at home on Saturday, February 1, as they host No. 16 Northwestern at 3:45 PM.
