Men's Golf Plays Host to Doane Spring Invitational
Doane Men's Golf hosted the Doane Spring Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Friday's round was played at Woodland Hills GC in Eagle, with Saturday's round at Highlands GC in Lincoln.
The Doane varsity team placed 6th overall with a two-day score of 600 (306-294). Julius Rauter led the way with a 148 (77-71) to place 14th. Blake Andersen finished 16th with a 149 (77-72). Achilleas Lazaridis and Josh Spomer tied for 27th. Lazaridis posted a 77-75 for a 152 total score while Spomer shot two rounds of 76 to account for his 152. Ryan Weiss finished 35th with a 153 (76-77).
The Tiger "B" team finished 7th with a 606 (304-302). Blake Skoumal led the squad and all Tiger golfers with an eighth place finish with a 145 (73-72). Garrett Dalton and Andrew Paquette matched Lazaridis and Spomer in a tie for 27th with a 152. Dalton recorded a 78-74 with Paquette finishing with an inverse, 74-78. Sam Arnold placed 47th with a 157 (79-78) and Cauy Walters finished 58th with a 160 (79-81).
The "C" team placed 8th with a 618 (315-303). Karsten Kern and Thomas Benninghoff tied for 35th with a 153. Kern shot a 76-77 while Benninghoff shot a 77-76. Riley Mitchell and Riley Podliska tied for 43rd with a 156. Mitchell posted scores of 80-76 with Podliska posting an 82-74. Noah Miller finished 82nd overall with a 171 (91-80).
Doane's "D" team placed 15th with a 686 (335-351). Connor Podliska finished 54th with a 159 (78-81). Sam Banzhaf placed 84th with a 175 (89-86). Derek Story shot a 176 (88-88) to place 85th. Gabe Trampe finished in 89th with a 188 (92-96). Magnus Gulbrandsen played in the first round, with his score of 80 being used in the team score.
Southeast CC won the meet with a 577.
Next up for the Tigers will be the Bethel Invitational on April 1-2 in Kansas.
