Rauter Notches School Record at Siouxland Invite
Men's Golf competed at the Siouxland Invitational hosted by Dordt (Iowa) and Northwestern (Iowa) on Monday and Tuesday. The first 36 holes were contested at The Ridge in Sioux Center, Iowa, with the final 18 holes at Landsmeer GC in Orange City, Iowa.
The Tigers took two teams to the tournament. The "A" squad finished fifth with a 54-hole score of 876 (292-296-288). Julius Rauter led the Tigers with a 215 (73-64-78) to place seventh. His second round score of 64 broke the school record set last year by Blake Andersen. He carded a bogey-free round with seven birdies. Sam Arnold tied for 16th with a 219 (71-76-72). Ryan Weiss tied for 21st with a 221 (73-77-71). Joshua Wassmer shot a 223 (75-79-69) to tie for 31st. Noah Miller finished 61st with a 233 (77-80-76).
The "B" team finished in 10th place with an 891 (302-296-293). Thomas Benninghoff led the team with a 219 (74-75-70) to tie for 16th. Karsten Kern shot a 221 (79-71-71) to tie for 21st. Harrison Taylor tied for 37th with a 224 (73-73-78). Blake Skoumal tied for 46th with a 227 (76-77-74). Brock Heusinkvelt recorded a 239 (79-77-83) to tie for 65th.
Next up for the Tigers will be the Central Plains Invite in Salina, Kansas, on September 25-26.
