Men's Golf Places Third at Red Raider Invite
Men's Golf competed in the Northwestern Red Raider Invite on Monday, playing 36 holes. The Tigers posted a 303 in the opening round and a 301 in the second round to post a 604 total score. Doane placed third overall, eight strokes behind Northwestern and one behind Morningside. The Doane "B" team posted a 316-323 for a 639 and placed eighth.
Ryan Weiss led the varsity squad with a second place finish and score of 146 (76-70), three strokes off first place. Sam Arnold tied for 15th with a 153 (74-79). Jack Millard posted rounds of 76-78 while Julius Rauter shot scores of 77-77 as the two tied for 19th with a 154. Joshua Wassmer tied for 23rd with a 155 (79-76).
The "B" squad was led by Blake Skoumal with a 151 (74-77) and tied for 8th. Noah Miller tied for 19th with a 154 (77-77). Karsten Kern placed 49th with a 166 (82-84). Harrison Taylor shot a 169 (84-85) and tied for 53rd. Tying for 56th with a 170 (83-87) was Connor Podliska.
Garrett Dalton played under individual status and shot a 159 (78-81) to tie for 29th. Cam Binder tied for 33rd with a 160 (81-79).
The next outing for the Tigers will be on April 19-20 when Doane competes in the Waterloo Intercollegiate in Waterloo, Iowa, at Gates Park GC.
