Doane Women's Basketball traveled to Sioux City, Iowa, on Saturday afternoon to take on Morningside. The Mustangs were able to get out front early on and defeated the Tigers, 78-63. Doane trailed by as many as 20 in the 4th quarter but cut the lead to 10 points before Morningside pushed their advantage back to 15.
Macy Holtz and Mak Hatcliff led the Tigers on the afternoon with 20 points apiece, both going 7-of-15 from the floor. Rylie Rice recorded a team-high nine rebounds and four steals. Hatcliff led the way with four assists.
Morningside received 17 points off the bench from Lily Vollertsen and 14 points from Sophia Peppers.
Next up for the Tigers will be a short home stand starting on Friday, January 20, when Jamestown comes to Crete. Tipoff is set for 5 PM.
