Doane Women's Basketball dropped their final game of the regular season on Saturday as they hosted Briar Cliff. The Chargers won 96-76 behind a big first quarter.
Briar Cliff led 24-9 after the first quarter as they shot 69-percent. They shot 50-percent in the second quarter as the Chargers held a 14-point lead at the break. Doane shot 71-percent in the second quarter as they scored 28 points. BCU out-scored the Tigers by six points in the second half.
Mak Hatcliff led Doane with 23 points on 6-of-9 shooting. She pulled in a team-high six rebounds and six steals. Libby Trausch posted 20 points, hitting 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Megan Chambers finished with 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Macy Holtz had a team-high three assists.
Doane will enter the GPAC Tournament as the No. 8 seed. The Tigers will travel to Sioux Center, Iowa, for a Quarterfinal Round game at Dordt. Tipoff is set for 6 PM on February 22.
