Bulldogs Rally to Nip Men's Basketball

Doane Men's Basketball hosted Concordia on Wednesday evening in Crete. The Bulldogs finished each half strong as they picked up an 85-79 win over the Tigers.

In the opening half, Doane built a seven-point lead through the opening eight minutes of play behind four made 3-point baskets. Concordia answered with a 7-0 run to tie the game and eventually led by eight points with three minutes to play. At the halftime break, the Bulldogs led 37-32.

Concordia started the second half with a 9-2 run to push their lead to 12 points. The Bulldogs held a 10-point advantage, 51-41, with 14:27 to play. Doane followed with a 26-7 run over six minutes to take a 67-58. The final eight minutes of play belonged to the Bulldogs as they outscored the Tigers, 27-12, including 13-2 in the last three minutes.

Brady Timm led the Tigers with 27 points and added four assists. Alec Oberhauser posted 14 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Caleb Hrabik finished with 11 points and Cooper Sheldon totaled 10 points. 

The Tigers shot 50.8-percent from the floor, hitting 10-of-32 from behind the arc and 9-of-11 at the free throw line. Concordia shot 62.5-percent, making 6-of-17 from behind the 3-point line and 9-of-13 at the free throw line.

Doane will travel to take on Dordt on Saturday, February 11, in Sioux Center, Iowa. Tip-off is set for 3:45 PM.
